Start with the requesting organization
The most common problem applicants face is ordering a check that the employer does not accept. Before you order anything, get clear answers from the organization asking for the check.
- Which check type do you need (Level 1, Level 2 or Vulnerable Sector)?
- Do you accept results from private online services?
- How recent does the check need to be?
- How would you like to receive the result?
Have your information ready
Use your full legal name exactly as it appears on your government-issued photo ID, and list any previous names you have used. Mismatched or incomplete names are a frequent cause of delays.
Make sure you can access your email and have a device with a camera available in case identity verification asks you to photograph your ID.
Understand how sharing works
With our service, your result is delivered only to you, through your secure account. If an employer asks for a copy, you choose whether to share it after you have seen it. An employer does not receive your result simply because it requested or paid for the check.
Allow some buffer time
Many checks are completed quickly after identity verification, but some need additional review or fingerprint verification. If you have a firm start date, apply early and let the organization know when you applied.
